This chapter offers an analysis of the filmic images related to violence that serve to delineate space, temporality and socio-historical context on films. The social representation of violence is located within a specific historical context, shaped by the collective memory and historical legacy of a particular period. Latin American films often feature a pronounced socio-historical dimension, allowing them to be contextualised within a specific political period and even to bring remembrances from the past in the present. As well as the chapter is dedicated to an in-depth examination of the socio-spatial dimension of violence in the selected films. Locations serve to anchor meanings to these spaces, which are in turn linked to collective memory. As a result, these undertones are often projected onto the inhabitants of these spaces. The influence of geopolitics is discernible in the social practices that are associated with institutional and geographical spaces.
