This chapter explores how children and adolescents are uniquely affected by RET, highlighting their developmental susceptibility to trauma exposure via digital media and familial ties. Drawing from developmental psychology and child trauma literature, it outlines key risk factors (such as identity formation, emotional regulation, and neurocognitive development) that shape youth responses to remote trauma. It emphasizes how children in diaspora or those with culturally mediated ties to conflict zones may internalize traumatic narratives or experience secondary guilt, fear, and helplessness. The chapter also reviews empirical studies on media exposure, school-based stress, and parental coping dynamics. It concludes with a call to recognize RET as a serious developmental risk, advocating for trauma-informed interventions in education, mental health, and parenting.
