Moderate-to-severe tricuspid regurgitation (TR) has traditionally been viewed as secondary to left-sided heart disease, with the assumption that treating the left heart condition would lead to resolution of TR. However, TR is independently associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Medical therapy is largely ineffective, and surgical correction of isolated severe TR carries high risk due to the late stage at which patients typically present. Among the various transcatheter treatment options, this chapter focuses on caval valve implantation (CAVI)—a promising approach that is safe, effective, and characterized by a relatively short learning curve.

摘要
