The Individualistic Obsession
摘要
The individual is not spared from the collapse of ecological equilibria but finds themselves at the center of one of the greatest existential crises of the modern era. The disruption of the environmental context has given rise to feelings of frustration, nostalgia, and stress, as well as a widespread sense of depression. At the same time, it is precisely those cultural attitudes responsible for the ecological crisis—such as hedonism, consumerism, egocentrism, and narcissism—which, as expressions or direct consequences of capitalist society, foster in individuals a pervasive sense of loneliness and dissatisfaction. The convivial dimension that once underpinned belonging and social bonds has been fractured, with far-reaching repercussions on psychological well-being and the development of younger generations.
