Accepting Artificial Intelligence at the Individual Level: Empirical Evidence from Russian Market

This study aims to examine a combination of drivers of acceptance of AI-based solutions by individuals – as citizens and consumers, combining socio-psychological foundations, theory of the diffusion of innovations and the cognitive responses triggered by AI innovations and their impact on individual’s behavior, offering a deeper understanding of how technology is reshaping the digital market landscape. Based on a quantitative survey at the level of individual behavior, the study offers new insights into AI-acceptance and expands our understanding of how to integrate technology into the solutions offered to individuals by organizations in digital governance, commercial solutions and other contexts. The findings offer insights on the level of behavioral attitudes and beliefs and their contribution to the intention to use the AI solutions. The empirical tools used to collect the data offer a contribution to adapting empirical methodology for future research, and the model contributes by a combination of classic and established theoretical approaches in a new combination to suggest a holistic picture of AI-based individual behavior.
