Oral Symptoms and Findings in E-Cigarette Users and Their Impact on Voice
摘要
The adverse effects of e-cigarette smoking on oral health are numerous. Studies suggest that vaping induces dysregulation of oral bacterial homeostasis and alterations in salivary flow and composition, all of which lead to an increase in colonization of opportunistic bacteria and increase the risk of new infections. There are also a few reports on oral mucosal lesions in e-cigarette users and the increased risk for odontogenic diseases in vapors. This chapter reviews the impact of e-cigarette use on oral health and voice, with emphasis on the paramount role of saliva in voice production.
