Fallacies and Biases that Affect Ethical Decision-Making

Not all failures in ethical decision-making stem from being morally uneducated or lacking moral cognitive or reasoning skills. Other contextual factors, including self-deception and rationalization play a role in the process. Behavioral ethics research highlights how even well-intentioned individuals may act unethically. In such situations, individuals may act unethically without even realizing they are doing so.
