The sustainability of food and water systems is critical to achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation). This work examines the complex interdependencies between food production and water resource management, emphasizing sustainable practices that address global challenges like water scarcity, food insecurity, and environmental degradation. As population growth, climate change, and resource constraints intensify, efficient management of these systems is essential for long-term resilience. Key sustainability strategies explored include precision agriculture, agroecology, and integrated water resource management (IWRM), which enhance food security and water conservation while contributing to other SDGs such as SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). Innovative technologies, such as sensor-based irrigation, artificial intelligence, and wastewater recycling, are highlighted as transformative tools for advancing sustainability in agriculture and water systems. Case studies from water-scarce regions illustrate the successful adoption of these technologies, with a focus on community-driven initiatives and supportive policy frameworks. The critical role of women, especially in developing regions, is emphasized as a key factor in effective resource management. Furthermore, the analysis explores the role of governance structures, policies, and financing mechanisms, such as green bonds and public–private partnerships, in promoting sustainable food and water systems. By integrating circular economy principles and developing climate-resilient crops, this work outlines future directions for mitigating climate change impacts and conserving resources. Ultimately, it calls for global cooperation and action from policymakers, businesses, and communities to adopt sustainable practices, ensuring a secure and resilient future for all.

摘要
