Data Communication System for Remote Train Operation on Regional Lines, Including Video Integration
摘要
In modern transportation, the railway plays a crucial role in connecting societies. The evolution of railway transportation towards automation and digital infrastructure prompts innovative advancements, notably in remote train control. This transition is effectively revolutionizing the transportation system and represents a significant stride toward achieving fully autonomous trains on regional line operations. This study explores the critical role of data communication systems in enabling the remote driving of trains. It addresses the prerequisites of data communication in railway remote driving and emphasizes the necessity for real-time, reliable, and low-latency communication between trains and control centers. The study assesses the fulfillment of existing and planned railway mobile communication systems (GSM-R, FRMCS) with the requirements. It also examines the strengths and limitations in meeting the demands of remote driving scenarios with video support. The study underscores the significance of video communication within railway infrastructure and draws insights from other sectors to enhance safety, security, and operational efficiency.
