The focal issue of this study is the security and privacy of patient data within the healthcare sector, where traditional data management systems have often failed to provide adequate security, leading to breaches and other compromises. This research aims to assess the implementation of blockchain technology in securing healthcare data through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer software and the Scopus database. The analysis reveals a significant growth in scholarly articles on this topic from 2016 to 2023, with India leading in research output, surpassing both the United States and China. Prominent institutional contributors include the Vellore Institute of Technology and the SRM Institute of Science and Technology. Keyword analysis highlights ‘Blockchain’ and ‘Healthcare’ as primary themes, with additional emphasis on ‘Internet of Things,’ ‘Smart Contract,’ ‘Security,’ and ‘Privacy’.
