Machine Learning in Mathematics: A Bibliometric Analysis of Trends, Applications, and Future Directions

The study has conducted a bibliometric mapping related to ML applications in mathematics, discussing the growth, trends, and influence this transformative technology has developed between 2010 and 2025. Based on data extracted from Scopus, the paper outlines the development of research in ML in mathematics, such as publication trends, ML authors, institutions, and countries. In fact, it indicates that ML research has grown a lot since 2015 due to rapid growth in computation power, big datasets, and sophisticated neural network architecture. These results bring out the international nature of the research in the area of ML and how contributions come from across different countries like China, the United States, and India. The ML themes of research relate to mathematical modeling, optimization, and computational mathematics. The ML of this therefore gives valuable insight to ML into addressing contemporary mathematical challenges for the attention of researchers, mathematicians, and policymakers, this is about the direction that future research could take.
