Minimally Invasive Approaches: Supraorbital and Supraorbital-Zygomatic

Minimally invasive cranial approaches have emerged as alternatives to traditional craniotomies that reduce surgical morbidity while maintaining effective access to intracranial targets. Techniques such as mini-pterional and supraorbital craniotomies, often referred to as key-hole approaches, offer less soft tissue disruption, smaller working volumes, and comparable deep exposure to standard pterional craniotomies. These methods have been quantitatively evaluated using navigation-based imaging to assess their exposure and maneuverability, demonstrating their feasibility for various anterior and middle cranial fossa pathologies [1, 2].
