According to the World Health Organisation report, one in three women worldwide have experienced physical or sexual violence at some point in their lives, with most of these incidents taking place in developing countries. Considering these alarming statistics, it is crucial that policymakers and advocates in the Global South prioritise the implementation of effective health communication prevention programs to combat gender-based violence. This chapter focuses on policy and recommendations for health communication programmes for the prevention of gender-based violence. The chapter starts by discussing the importance of policy, followed by a discussion on recommendations for health communication programmes for the prevention of gender-based violence to create a world free from violence.
