This chapter focuses on the latest advances in the synthesis of materials and nanomaterials from waste, and on their applications for wastewater treatment via advanced electrochemical processes. These material development approaches constitute convenient alternatives for the efficient employment of natural resources and for the preservation of the environment, promoting the transition of our current transformation practices toward a circular economy model in which agro-industrial waste is efficiently recovered and utilized.
