In this chapter, we first describe various definitions and dimensions of consumption happiness: a general definition of consumption happiness, momentary consumption happiness, and remembered consumption happiness. The metrics of consumption happiness are described in the context of their theoretical models. Specifically, the research on the topic suggests three sets of models with corresponding metrics: acquisition-focused, possession-focused, and experience-focused. Acquisition-focused models include satisfaction with a local shopping mall (or center), shopping wellbeing, perceived shopping value (utilitarian and hedonic), and purchase happiness. Possession-focused models include brand relationships and brand community. Experience-focused models include self-congruity, extended self, positive self, self-expressiveness, perceived quality-of-life impact, perceived quality of consumer goods and services, perceived value (functional, social, and emotional), benefits and need satisfaction, personal values, positive social interactions, experiential advantage, and hedonic adaptation.

摘要
