The methodology for preparing this paper consists of applying a qualitative analysis of the legal frameworkLegal framework and strategic determinations defined in specific goals for the protectionProtection of critical infrastructureCritical infrastructure, while the quantitative segment of the research for the preparation of this paper involves the interpretation of data obtained from a survey of the attitudes of a representative sample of respondents, members of private security in the Republic of North Macedonia, on the situation in the domain of the protectionProtection of critical infrastructure and the directions for its improvement. The research results elaborated in this paper highlight the real need to strengthen the available capacities in order to achieve an optimal level of security of critical infrastructureCritical infrastructure systemsSystem by completing the process of creating a legal frameworkLegal framework for the protectionProtection of critical infrastructure and establishing guidelines for action towards achieving integration.
