Inclusive by Design: Addressing Gender Gaps in Interior Spaces of Creative Agencies in Bahrain
摘要
The research investigates how Bahrain's creative agencies fail to respect women's privacy needs while ignoring ergonomic requirements, cultural sensitivities, and caregiving responsibilities which affect well-being and productivity and retention rates. The absence of region-specific guidelines and standards about gender-inclusive design exists despite worldwide recommendations. The research investigates which spatial deficiencies limit women's work performance and identifies specific solutions to resolve these issues. A Design Thinking methodology united worldwide literature analysis with direct observations and interviews conducted at Bahraini agencies. The research demonstrates that implementing private women’s restrooms and lactation pods together with ergonomically designed furniture and screened privacy zones and a prayer room and on-site childcare facilities will produce quantifiable improvements in comfort levels and job satisfaction and organizational performance.
