Service Design for Women’s Inclusivity in Sports

Sports has long been male-dominated field. Consequently, services in this field are often designed to target men. However, there is a desperate need for women-inclusive services that represent and empower women in sports, especially in Bahrain, as gender dynamics continue to evolve. This paper seeks to identify the barriers women face in sports service design and to propose actionable strategies for inclusivity in Bahrain. The findings reveal several challenges women encounter in the sports sectors includes pay disparities, limited media representation, inadequate resources, gender stereotypes, and underrepresentation in leadership. The scope of the study includes an analysis of both local and global case studies that highlight creative and innovative service design practices, followed by a comparative review of design management strategies. This paper adds value by shedding the light on women barrier sin sports and providing actionable service design recommendations that can help in creating more women-inclusive environments and opportunities in sports.
