This research aims to investigate the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on the next generation of students by assessing its effects on academic achievement, student engagement, and the cultivation of critical thinking abilities in educational environments. By exploring these dimensions, the study hopes to provide valuable insights into how AI tools can enhance learning experiences and better prepare students for the challenges of the modern workforce. Ultimately, the findings may contribute to the development of more effective pedagogical strategies that integrate technology in meaningful ways. This paper conducts a comprehensive overview and comparative analysis of contemporary academic literature on AI-driven educational technology, specifically focusing on customized learning platforms and intelligent tutoring systems (ITS). To understand the theoretical impacts and real-world effectiveness of using artificial intelligence, the research involved a detailed examination of research studies, expert opinions, and comparisons. The results of this research clearly show that personalized learning environments powered by artificial intelligence greatly raise student academic performance and engagement levels. Research results show significant improvements in subject-specific performance and higher student motivation than in more traditional teaching strategies. Furthermore, very effective in improving student critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are AI-driven intelligent tutoring systems. The findings also show notable limitations and ethical concerns, including probable difficulties with data privacy, too much reliance on technology, and the degradation of genuine personal connection in educational environments. Essential is the smart integration of artificial intelligence in education, underlined by clear ethical norms, extensive teacher training, and inclusive approaches. Future research is recommended to investigate the long-term effects, ethical issues, and pragmatic approaches for the appropriate integration of artificial intelligence. These projects will ensure that artificial intelligence technologies effectively forward learning goals while safeguarding students’ whole development.
