Workplace Aspirations and Homefront Duties: The Dichotomy Faced by Middle Eastern Women
摘要
The Middle East region is deeply associated with its culture, society and religion. Middle Eastern regions are represented by their male-dominant aura and are often misjudged on this basis. Gender equality has been an issue in every country but due to the depth of culture and religion, the Middle Eastern region is assumed to be under gender inequality and is behind in the race of women empowerment. There is a clear need for proper in-depth exploration of actual women’s empowerment. Often a satisfied working status of a woman plays a critical factor in representing women’s empowerment. The present research presents the other side of women’s empowerment and the status of work-life balance (WLB) in the women working in the Middle East region. The results clearly show that working women are not stressed by the lack of family support but lack the proper organizational support which calls for the organizations to improve on the facilities that are being provided for the women which can help them to cope with both the working and personal life.
