The crime of abortion is the severing of the connection that connects the fetus to its mother by removing it from the womb by any means, which leads to its death, meaning separating the fetus from the womb at a time other than its natural time and without necessity. The study aims to define abortion, its types, methods, and risks, outline the criminal liability resulting from it, and outline the penalty for the crime of abortion in Bahraini penal code and comparative criminal legislation..This topic is of paramount importance because it is a vital and important topic. Its significance stems from the importance of the family in building and shaping society. The research follows the comparative analytical inductive approach through analyzing the legal texts in the Bahraini penal code and comparative criminal legislation. The study concluded that criminal protection for women against abortion crimes is insufficient and that the Bahraini legislator's criminal policy regarding abortion crimes needs to be reconsidered. The study proposed several recommendations: permitting the abortion of an illegitimate pregnancy under specific criteria, and permitting the abortion of a fetus with a serious, incurable congenital deformity.
