This research aims to shed light on the criminal liability arising from electronic bullying to which female athletes are exposed in various sports via social media of various types and to determine the criminal liability provisions for this phenomenon in Bahraini and Jordanian criminal legislation in particular, while also addressing some foreign legislation such as French law. This research addresses a topic that has not been sufficiently researched despite its particular importance at the present time. This research also aims to explain the meaning of cyberbullying and its effects, the penalty imposed on its perpetrator, and what are the legal problems raised by the topic of cyberbullying. The research follows the comparative analytical approach by analyzing legal texts in Bahraini and Jordanian criminal law and foreign criminal legislation such as French criminal legislation. The study concluded that there aren’t any direct texts imposing penalties for the crime of cyberbullying in Bahraini criminal legislation- unlike Jordanian and French legislation, which stipulate specific provisions criminalizing cyberbullying. The study recommends that it is preferable for the Bahraini legislator to add an article to Law No. (60) of 2014 regarding information technology crimes to criminalize and punish the act of cyberbullying.
