Intro: Staging Public Opinion-Formation and Collective Identifications—Moral Casting and Societization in Journalistic News Texts
摘要
A journalistically authored news text is a different kind of communicative environment from parliamentary decision-making, connected to a different kind of framework of democratic practices and political action. The aspect of persuasion is likewise less straightforward. The public arena in this case is a mass-mediated stage, such as a national newspaper, an item which works to support democracy, advance equality, inform citizens and facilitate public discussion (Hujanen, 2002). The communication is carried out through journalistic practices, and basically, a journalist is communicating with the media audience, which is involved in the dramatic world of news stories (Edelman, 1988).
