Pitch videos are visual tools that assist startup founders in effectively communicating their business ideas. It is commonly used for crowdfunding campaigns, accelerator applications, and marketing purposes. Despite its crucial importance, startups might find the production of their own pitch video highly challenging, given the potential lack of time and expertise in the artistic field. Generative AI (GenAI) tools, with their widespread accessibility and time-saving characteristics, can be promising supporting tools for startup teams to create pitch videos. Given the nascent nature of GenAI technology, there is a scarcity of literature on the usage of GenAI to support startups in general and pitch video creation in particular. This book chapter aims to define GenAI-powered solutions to common challenges that startups might face when developing a pitch video with traditional methods. The focus of the study revolves around defining and proposing a set of patterns, emphasizing the underlying structure and the methodological processes behind GenAI-based solutions. The patterns were evaluated in a workshop and follow-up interviews with workshop participants to gain a better understanding of their application. These patterns will assist the integration of generative AI into effective startup pitch video creation and eventually facilitate the effective communication of startup ideas.
