Garlic is rich in phenolic compounds, which are found in higher concentrations than in many common vegetables. β-resorcylic acid is a major phenolic compound, followed by pyrogallol, gallic acid, rutin, protocatechuic acid, and quercetin. Garlic contains various sugars, including fructose, glucose, and galactose [3]. Moreover, garlic provides a good source of vitamins such as ascorbic acid and B complex (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9). Enzymes, arginine-rich proteins, and minerals (calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, zinc, and selenium) are other essential components of garlic [4]. These components alleviate oral pathologies and enhance oral health.
