The Evolution of Patient Data Management: Comparing Traditional Cloud, Blockchain, and Hybrid Architectural Paradigms
摘要
This research paper analyses three architectural approaches to patient data management systems: cloud-based, blockchain-based, and hybrid. Our analysis regarding scalability, security, cost efficiency, and performance determines that cloud systems outperform in performance and cost-effectiveness and are easily amplifiable, while blockchain systems enhanced security through decentralization, but neither adopts all contemporary healthcare systems’ needs. The hybrid architecture is the most suitable solution as it blends the cloud’s infrastructure scalability with blockchain technology’s security features for sensitive data exchanges. This study provides healthcare organizations with evidence-based insights for selecting architectural approaches that align with their operational needs, regulatory requirements, and resource constraints.
