Radiofrequency Ablation for Hypothalamic Hamartoma
摘要
Currently, stereoelectroencephalography-guided radiofrequency thermocoagulation (SEEG-RFTC) is increasingly recognized as a treatment option for patients with HH. Optimization of SEEG-RFTC parameters and refinements in patient selection for SEEG-RFTC are essential to attain favorable efficacy. Although accumulated evidence has shown that SEEG-RFTC is a promising option for patients with drug-resistant seizures, the indications for SEEG-RFTC are still being investigated. Caution is required in the selection of patients who can benefit from such a novel intervention. From a technical point of view, developing new devices for RFTC that provide intraoperative control over lesion temperature and real-time lesion visualization would help produce ablated volumes precisely as expected and with better outcomes.
