This conceptual paper discusses the collaborative ideas and roles that Malaysia can collaborate with China to foster the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) that envisioned to emerge as the world’s largest Duty-Free Port within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). This paper will propose the establishment of a Hainan Island Halal Hub FTP division and exploring the potential for a Halal Park on Hainan province by which, will yield a positive ripple effect that benefiting the development of Hainan Province in a large scale, as well as other nations encompassed within the BRI and other economic blocs like ASEAN, OIC, and BRICS. The establishment of a Halal Hub in Hainan is aimed to not only catalysis the creation of a new tourism sector in Hainan that catering to Muslim consumers and tourists worldwide but also showcase Malaysia’s competence as a global leader in the Halal-based trades. This strategic move holds the potential of reciprocal long-term benefits that align the interests of both China and Malaysia in a mutually beneficial partnership.
