Enhancing Online Education Through Ontology and Semantic Web Applications: A Framework for Personalized and Context-Aware Learning Experiences
摘要
Distance learning is at the heart of digital strategies, driven by the growing demand for flexible and learner-centered educational devices. The digital era has transformed education, making distance learning essential. However, traditional platforms struggle to deliver personalized, adaptive, and semantically rich experiences. This article explores how the integration of ontologies and Semantic Web technologies can transform distance education by improving knowledge representation, resource interoperability, and adaptability of learning paths. To design dynamic and contextual learning environments, we propose in this paper a conceptual framework based on ontology modeling that allows structuring educational content and user profiles. Through a critical analysis of recent approaches and technologies, this study highlights the potential of Semantic Web standards such as RDF, OWL, and SPARQL to enhance interoperability and personalization of e-learning systems, as well as the obstacles and challenges. The results show that combining ontological structures and semantic reasoning opens the way to intelligent and adaptive ecosystems capable of meeting the varied needs of distance learning.
