The Journey, Current Status, and Challenges of High-Power Fiber Laser Spectral Beam Combining Technology
摘要
Spectral beam combining (SBC) is a technique that enables the stable combination of high-power lasers while maintaining high beam quality. By using optical elements to combine beams of different wavelengths into a common-aperture output, SBC represents one of the most promising approaches for achieving high-brightness power scaling in high-power fiber lasers. In recent years, SBC technology has experienced rapid development, with significant advancements in the combined output power. This chapter provides a detailed review of the evolution of SBC technology, comparing different SBC schemes and system architectures. It also analyzes the limitations of various approaches and discusses the challenges in further increasing power levels. This chapter concludes by offering insights into the future development of SBC technology.
