Energy Poverty Across Regions in Indonesia
摘要
Energy poverty remains a significant challenge in Indonesia, particularly in rural and underserved areas. Energy poverty refers to the inadequate access of households to meet their energy needs. This study examines the extent of household energy poverty across various regions by assessing several indicators such as mobile phone ownership, refrigerator ownership, internet access, electrification ratio, and the use of clean cooking fuels by using a descriptive analysis approach. These indicators reflect access to essential energy services, which are fundamental for people’s livelihood. The result found disparities in energy access, highlighting an inequality between urban and rural areas across regions and islands in Indonesia. These highlight substantial gaps in energy access, particularly in remote areas where energy services are limited or unreliable. This study contributes to developing more inclusive and sustainable energy policies by identifying areas where targeted interventions are most needed. Recommendations focus on improving energy distribution, affordability, and accessibility to reduce energy poverty and promote inclusive development in Indonesia.
