Traditional fossil energy reserves centered on coal, oil, and natural gas have recognized to be extremely active drivers of economic advancement, but at the same time harmful to the human health and to environment. It highlights how access to affordable, clean energy can drive social progress by creating jobs, reducing poverty and improving living standards in both urban and rural areas. From an environmental perspective, this chapter explores how sustainable energy solutions can play a key role in mitigating climate change and reducing our ecological footprint.
