The feedback session is perhaps the most important part of the assessment process, enhancing understandings and catalyzing action. When executed well, feedback meetings with youth and the important adults in their lives promote understanding, foster collaboration, instill hope, empower, and support the implementation of recommendations. In this chapter, we discuss how to connect with key stakeholders to deliver feedback, tailoring approaches to the nature of the assessment, setting, family dynamics, youth development, and cultural norms. The feedback session is designed to be an educational, motivational, and therapeutic experience with the clinician guiding a collaborative conversation about the assessment findings and actionable recommendations tailored to the youth’s unique needs, culture, and context. Moving from discussions toward action takes great skill, and each feedback session should be flexibly organized, consistently adapting to who is in the room and how they are responding, with ample time for questions. We discuss the nuts and bolts of planning for a productive feedback session. The chapter closes with illustrations and tips for navigating the most frequent challenges during these informative meetings.

摘要
