This chapter investigates the transition from traditional to intelligent health care systems, emphasizing the critical need for a shift in how treatment is given, managed, and accessible. It presents a comprehensive conceptual framework for intelligent health care systems, outlining the foundational technologies—including artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), big data analytics, machine learning, blockchain, and cloud computing—as well as how they integrate with existing infrastructures. The chapter demonstrates how real-world applications such as predictive analytics, smart wearables, AI-assisted imaging, and clinical decision support improve patient outcomes, optimize resources, and extend access to treatment, particularly in distant and disadvantaged areas. Despite these advantages, the chapter also discusses major issues such as data protection, ethical considerations, standards, and labor preparation.
