In the last few years, a new level of information technology development has been achieved globally mostly related to the use of artificial intelligence (AI). AI technologies have rapidly entered the classroom, both as a subject of study and as a tool to increase interactivity in the educational process. Robotics, and in particular social robotics, aims to provide support and interaction with people in a manner consistent with established social behavior norms. Social-Educational Robotics (SER) is an innovative didactic technology that explores the impact of social robotics in the school educational environment. This paper examines some aspects of the preparation and qualification of teachers and students on topics related to AI education in Bulgaria. The authors share their experience in teaching students in various schools, specialized classes, and professions on different AI-related topics, as well as programming and the use of social robots. In addition, the experience of Plovdiv University “Paisiy Hilendarski” as one of the leading universities in Bulgaria for training software specialists and teachers in building and developing personnel for training in the field of artificial intelligence is presented.
