Nailfold Capillaroscopy—Image Acquisition
摘要
The two major challenges of nailfold capillaroscopy are image acquisition and image interpretation: this chapter describes image acquisition in both the clinical and the research setting. Images can be acquired using different types of microscope/optical systems: nailfold videocapillaroscopy (the current gold standard), USB microscopy, stereomicroscopy, dermoscopy, and ophthalmoscopy. The properties of these different techniques are described, including in terms of their magnification, field of view, portability, and cost. The advantages and disadvantages of each system are described. Finally, the optimal number of nailfolds to be examined is discussed.
