Corporate Greenwashing
摘要
This chapter provides an overview of the definition and regulatory framework surrounding corporate greenwashing, along with empirical research on its causes and consequences. It highlights the absence of a consistent anti-greenwashing regulatory framework, which poses significant challenges in identifying and addressing corporate greenwashing. Furthermore, the chapter presents mixed empirical evidence regarding the causes and effects of greenwashing, indicating that stakeholders—such as investors, consumers, and policymakers—may not fully account for greenwashing in their decision-making. The chapter concludes with policy recommendations and suggestions for future research.
