As our knowledge and understanding of portal hypertension and its complications are constantly evolving, the indications to perform minimally invasive procedures are also expanding. In this chapter, we describe additional indications for TIPS in unique situations such as Budd-Chiari syndrome and liver transplant population. In addition, other uncommon etiologies of portal hypertension such as arterioportal fistula and the role of splenic artery embolization in the management of portal hypertension are discussed.

As our knowledge and understanding of portal hypertension and its complications are constantly evolving, the indications to perform minimally invasive procedures are also expanding.
