Nonvariceal Upper Gastrointestinal Hemorrhage
摘要
Gastrointestinal hemorrhage persists as a leading cause of emergency room visits and hospital admissions and carries a mortality rate as high as 10%. Despite significant progress in endoscopic and medical therapies, selective arteriography and embolotherapy remain a cornerstone in management algorithms and will persist as a ubiquitous consult for interventional radiology practices in the foreseeable future. Following a review of pathogenesis and critical elements of medical stabilization, this chapter reviews modern approaches to noninvasive imaging as well as transcatheter imaging and intervention for the management of nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage.
