The Counterintuitive Topic of Christian Anti-Natalism
摘要
This chapter introduces the reader to the counterintuitive topic of Christian anti-natalism. I explain that part of my motivation for writing this book is that the arguments for anti-natalism are better than many Christians suppose. One way of understanding the aim of this book is that it is seeking to establish reflective equilibrium between Christianity and anti-natalism. I then make clear that I am not advocating for any anti-natalist policies. Such policies could turn out to be impermissible even if anti-natalism is true. To conclude, I further clarify that my aim is to explore the best possible defense of the view that Christians should be anti-natalists. My own views on the matter are irrelevant to the plausibility of that defense.
