This study aims to investigate the corrosion resistance of an SS316L cladding layer on a CT3 steel substrate by utilizing a powder laser cladding process. The microstructure of the interface between the overlayer and substrate metal was observed through a scanning electron microscope and further analyzed by X-ray diffraction measurement. The corrosion resistance of the cladding layer was evaluated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in a 3.5% NaCl solution. The results show that the SS316L clad layer exhibits superior corrosion resistance in the solution compared to CT3. This work provides fundamental and useful instructions for SS316L laser cladding on CT3 steel and its potential in anti-corrosion applications.

摘要
