Comparative Study of Electric Motor Types in Modern Electric Vehicles

The problem of environmental pollution and CO2 greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) is becoming increasingly serious in the world. One of the main factors is due to vehicles using internal combustion engines. Therefore, electric vehicles (EVs) are increasingly developing and gradually replacing vehicles using internal combustion engines due to their outstanding advantages such as high energy efficiency combined with zero pollutant emissions. Research on electric vehicles brings technological advances that increasingly overcome the weaknesses of electric vehicles, especially in the field of electric motor drives, helping them become a means of transport suitable for modern traffic. In particular, comparing and selecting the right electric motor for the operating conditions of the vehicle is very necessary because it affects the performance of the vehicle, energy consumption and many other factors. This article focuses mainly on comparing the important parameters of different types of electric motors commonly used in EVs to evaluate and select the most suitable motor.
