Waste Management’s Effects on the Environment and Health
摘要
The relationship between the world and the human population contains interesting contradictions. The human population has been increasing rapidly over the last few centuries, consuming the world’s resources at an even faster rate. Just like bacteria multiplying with an exponential function, the rate of consumption of resources by human beings is at a dramatic rate compared to population growth. On the other hand, the world is not given time to renew itself, and human beings exploit the world like greedy heirs. In addition, the waste that human beings create both personally and industrially is narrowing down the livable areas in the world. As a result, most of the population, which continues to grow despite being squeezed into a smaller area and raw materials being depleted, is more tense, more ambitious, and more eager to get a bigger share of the pie. It seems that if scientific developments were sufficient for human beings to move all together to another planet, the world would have been exhausted and abandoned long ago. On the other hand, there are also people who think that the solution to this important bottleneck is to get rid of ambitions, return to friendship with nature, produce more efficiently, consume consciously, and ensure the proper recycling of waste. There are concepts that emerge in this context.
