Smart Geospatial Intelligence and AI for a Resilient Environment: A Review

Modern strategies for environmental resilience coupled with sustainable development are revolutionized through the AI-Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) integration. AI-based geospatial intelligence serves as a primary tool to monitor as well as forecast and alleviate environmental threats because of escalating climate change and urban development together with environmental destruction. Through satellite imagery together with remote sensing technologies and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) GEOINT generates vital spatial information to support environmental conservation operations and disaster response as well as resource distribution decisions. The accurate and efficient execution of geospatial analysis receives substantial improvement through machine learning and deep learning approaches using real-time analytics. This chapter addresses the critical applications of AI fusion with GEOINT which include climate change risk mitigation and disaster protection and micro-biodiversity conservation systems as well as smart urban planning and modernized precision farming and renewable energy system optimization. The article presents modern innovations which include the integration of AI systems to predict floods and detect wildfires while tracking species and tracking carbon emissions.
