The previous chapters examined the theoretical underpinnings of embodiment, outlined relevant learning theories, and described key contextual factors particular to the museum learning environment. Before we move on to the design of embodied HDI experiences in museums, we turn our attention here to the use of visualizations as a learning tool. This chapter will explore the nexus of visualization and learning research with a focus on how visualizations have been adapted for non-experts. In particular, we center on graphs and map-based visualizations, which are particularly used in formal and informal learning settings.

摘要

The previous chapters examined the theoretical underpinnings of embodiment, outlined relevant learning theories, and described key contextual factors particular to the museum learning environment. Before we move on to the design of embodied HDI experiences in museums, we turn our attention here to the use of visualizations as a learning tool. This chapter will explore the nexus of visualization and learning research with a focus on how visualizations have been adapted for non-experts. In particular, we center on graphs and map-based visualizations, which are particularly used in formal and informal learning settings.
