Cultural Waters: Integrating Indigenous Knowledge and Governance for Justice and Sustainability in Central Queensland
摘要
This chapter examines the cultural significance of water for the Iman People of Central Queensland, focusing on the impacts of Coal Seam Gas (CSG) extraction. By documenting the views and lived experiences of Iman People, it examines how these values might shape regenerative futures and advance restorative justice for Indigenous Peoples, who are often marginalized in extractive industry agreements. The analysis emphasizes the necessity of incorporating Indigenous Cultural Values into water management plans, both above and below ground, to ensure sustainability and justice. This study highlights the transformative potential of integrating cultural and scientific approaches to water management, with implications for governance reform and sustainability.
