New and Future Technologies for the Creation of Cosmetics
摘要
This chapter explores how new scientific and technological approaches are being applied in the cosmetic industry to improve product function, safety, and sustainability. It reviews a range of emerging methods, including advanced ingredient delivery systems, bio-based production through fermentation and genetic modification, artificial intelligence in product development, and new formats such as 3D printing. These innovations are presented with attention to both their scientific basis and the practical hurdles that limit their current use. Topics such as ingredient stability, production scalability, environmental impact, and regulatory oversight are addressed to give a balanced view of what these technologies may offer. This chapter also reflects on how shifts in consumer expectations are influencing which ideas move forward. Taken together, these developments signal a possible shift in how cosmetics are conceived, formulated, and evaluated.
