Tracing the Course of Climate Tipping Points: A Thematic Examination of Research in Scientific Discourse
摘要
Recent times, have witnessed severe alterations in the global climate. As a result, related research on climate tipping points has gained momentum. Climate Tipping Points (CTP) have come to the fore as they now contend the survival of life on earth. A detailed awareness of contemporary trends is necessary to unravel the diverse discourses in this domain and uncover the causes of the phenomenon. This work aims to perform a thorough bibliometric analysis to explore the complex and evolving perspectives within the scientific community regarding climate tipping points and to visualize the current research patterns and loosen the hidden relationships among the varied types of tipping points. Bibliometric methodologies like co-occurrence analysis, correlation analysis and network mapping have been applied to examine the significant publications, authors and keywords in the domain of climate tipping points. Through thematic analysis approach, this research dissects a vast corpus of scientific literature, identifying key themes and trends that characterize the discourse on tipping points in climate science. The analysis reveals the diverse viewpoints on the mechanisms, consequences, and mitigation strategies associated with climate tipping points, highlighting areas of consensus and contention. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the implications of these scientific deliberations for policy-making and public awareness.
