Introduction
摘要
This chapter sets out the background to why this book is important. It covers a brief history of the women closely associated with famous writers having their contribution largely ignored or hidden. The chapter sets out the case for looking specifically at Eileen O’Shaughnessy, offering a brief biographical overview. It also gives an overview of the book’s structure, its use of the letters to sometimes include the non-standard features of spelling, punctuation and grammar, and there is also an explanation of the naming practices we have adopted in the book.
