Because of its longevity the Canadian language regime has developed a number of institutions which both promote official bilingualism and operate in a bilingual manner. In this chapter the role of key agencies and government departments such as the Treasury Board Secretariat, Justice Canada, Canada Heritage and the Official Languages Commissioner are evaluated as is the operation of select committees of the Federal Parliament and the judgments of the Supreme Court.
